"Clocks as Mandalas as Labrinths," Erich Barganier
Clocks as Mandalas as Labyrinths is inspired by a mixture of symbols and math found in two modern texts that examine cyclical objects. The first is A Dictionary of Symbols, which explores the semiotic and academic relationship between clocks and mandalas, and by extension, mandalas as mazes. The second book that inspired the piece is From Clocks To Chaos, which goes into how organic clocks and rhythms come about using a non-mathematical explanation. The electronics and graphic notation of this composition blends the themes of each book together in order to sonically explore the chaotic nature of clocks in nature.
