Cloud Bursting utilizes improvisation, rhythmic counterpoint, and post-minimalistcompositional techniques. The piece is meant to flow between its two parts seamlessly representing the clouds racing past juxtaposed with the slowing of the burst clouds. The second part, originally written for two guitars and electronics, is controlled entirely by the performers. Originally recorded as an improvisation, Cloud Bursting invites the listener to close their eyes and imagine their own narrative based on the performer’s choices.
