"Tuesday at the End of the Week"
Reilly Whitehair

Tuesday at the End of the Week, for solo vibraphone represents the familiar, yet dreaded feeling of monotony. Without precise time, or rhythm, fragments of melodies using various scales fill the space interjected by a bowed “F” in the right hand, which stays consistent throughout the piece.

Many  different spontaneous thoughts and ideas are portrayed in the left
hand making an effort to fill the space, yet none of these ideas stay or recur. This continues until eventually, there are no new ideas to be had, and the piece fades as even the monotony gets drowned in the silence.
