2021 CALL FOR SCORES RESULTS

In the fall of 2021, the Vibraphone Project held its first Call for Scores. In the spirit of building a community of vibraphone enthusiasts, be they performers or composers, we elected that our inaugural solicitation of new works featuring the vibraphone would not be a “contest.” Our goal is to usher in a new century of vibraphone repertoire by providing a resource for performers to find new works, and simultaneously giving a platform for composers; by connecting people from all around the world, we hope that our Call For Scores can be the first of many ways that we build a community of people that love the vibraphone!

The Call for Scores Committee created three categories of recognition: 1) Online Amplification; 2) Print and Bound and; 3) Showcase. All works that were evaluated in one or more of these categories are featured below in our new, searchable database!

Recipients of the “Print and Bound” recognition level will have their works in a new compendium of vibraphone music, and those who received the “Showcase” recognition will have their work premiered at a VPI event in the coming performance season (2022-23).
